Reginald Pierce... "Reggie" to all... graduated from Dartmouth College
in 1946 and earned a Master's of Business Administration degree from the Amos Tuck School in 1948. He was commissioned as
an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served as an executive officer on a PT boat in the western Pacific in
1945.
Reggie and his wife, Nancy, were married in 1949 and they lived in Greenwich CT. Until 1971, Reggie
worked as a senior account manager at several New York City advertising agencies. While at Compton Advertising, he served
as a senior vice president and as a member of the board of directors.
In 1971, Reg and Nancy moved to Etna
and purchased a country inn, which they renamed Pierce's Inn. In 2002, they retired as innkeepers and sold Pierce's
Inn to their daughter, Cindy Pierce, and her husband, Bruce Lingelbach.
Still full of life at 78, Reggie died suddenly from a stroke in August 2003. His presence is
missed; but, the vitality of his spirit lives-on.
